Atta Chicken originated in a small town called Kotkapura, Dist – Faridkot, Punjab, India. Introduced to locals by Kanwarjit Singh in the year 1972 and now famous all over the world.
The Cooking (NZ)
A whole chicken is marinated with specially-made spices, dry fruits and then tightly wrapped in a muslin cloth. Once marinated, it is covered with thick kneaded wholemeal dough and roasted in a slow-fire tandoor for hours.
Once ready dough hardens and turns black, it is then unwrapped and served steaming hot with rich flavoured sauce that simmers from the chicken itself. It is soft, juicy and full of flavour making it one of the very healthy options on our menu.
